GI Joe Toys & Vintage Action Figures
The GI Joe toy is a different class of Action figure. It symbolizes the pride, might and intelligence of the US armed forces. Hasbro, the company created GI Joe in 1963 and launched it''s first production line on February 2, 1964 with a world War II theme. The original Gi Joe were four figures, about 12 inches tall. The four figures represented the four branches of the US Armed Forces. There was an Action Soldier, Action Sailor, Action Pilot and Action Marine. Since the 1964 initial production, Hasbro has been producing the GI Joe action figures with different military themes. GI Joe Sigma 6 and Cobra Commander In 1992 Hasbro produced the Cobra Commander. In 2005 Hasbro introduced the G.I. Joe Sigma 6 line, consisting initially of an 8" scale selection of action figures.
